Similar, although I didn't like him, but regarded him as reliable. Shocked at the C Street connection, floored that he could be a strident whackjob when it comes to women's health. But he did kick some serious ass in a hearing featuring the 3 junk-bond salesman masquerading as health care company CEO's a few months back.
And a mighty h/t to a couple of republicans in that hearing - Joe Barton and Mitch Burgess, who took those slimeballs downtown.

I see what you mean!
I am coming from a far left point of view so I tend to be a bit critical of "pwoggies" (progressives) who are more a sort of limp center-right bunch. I oppose feminism on the grounds of its sexism against men (since I am for equality) and I support abortion rights as a civil rights issue, but oppose most of the sexist arguments that feminists use to "debate" that topic.

I am saying that this amendment to the bill is intended as a goad against the progressives to see how much they will put up with -- which is a lot since they are all doormats.

Uh.. does that cover everything?

I really like Stupak. I have watched so many of his hearings until comcast snitched back CSPAN 3 (cheap of them).

But I have noticed that, as great as all those hearings are, NOTHING ever gets done. Why, just last week two more Americans died from ecoli ground beef. My family won't touch it anymore.

But Stupak was great. I was shocked that he was a C Streeter. Actually, I think there are Family prayer groups in both the Senate and House every week.

The Religious power mongers got together with the Political/Corporate power mongers and made unholy deals. And here we are.

@4:50 PST the count is 119 in favor / 591 opposed ; that translates into 80 per cent disapproval of the bill as written; please let your opinion be known if you ahven't already.
Please keep in mind that kucinich's amendment to allow States to have a single payer system if they desire is 'off the table' and that Eshoo's Amendment re 'biologics' is still in the bill.

Well, if they prefer the mother die instead of live, and she has children, then Stupak should demand that a NANNY be provided to care for the living children.

They need protection and care, too?

And if now dead mom was a contributing breadwinner, then the FED should also pay her loss of wages until all children are age 19.

I mean why ONLY care about the unborn? How is it these people care so much for the unborn and so little for those born into poverty, with autism, etc.

They speak with fork ed tongues!

The AARP deciding now to endorse should raise alarms at what else was done to the bill behind the scenes.
They're vultures hiding under mops of grey hair who, as one of the biggest benefactors and opportunists of those late night drug and medicare dealings, the AARP must smell even more money to jump now.

I don't trust Obama or Reid and I've been trying to support Pelosi, but now -I'm not sure.

Watch Coburn. If he's spotted at a dark table in a DC eatery, you know a deal is being floated.
