I don’t think it matters a whole lot anymore, because the more important whip count is on the Stupak Amendment, but Eric Cantor has released a “whip count” on Democrats scheduled to vote against the health care bill. It looks a heck of a lot like my whip count, and I’m not the Republican whip. This simply is a reflection of the public statments of these members. Cantor has picked up six undecided votes on top of my whip count, but is missing Rep. Lincoln Davis (D-TN), who was a no on my count. So Cantor has 29, but he probably has 30. And I would add Jason Altmire (D-PA), Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) and Heath Shuler (D-NC), all of whom voted against the rule, as no votes as well. So that’s 33.

Cantor’s 29 below (asterisks designate those not confirmed NO’s in my whip count):

Rep. John Adler (NJ)
Rep. Brian Baird (WA)
*Rep. John Barrow (GA)
Rep. Dan Boren (OK)
*Rep. Allen Boyd (FL)
