How tea party democrats can run successfully in the primaries

Honesty in government is a core value of the Tea Party movement and the most basic value in any representative democracy. Accordingly, my first proposal is that all candidates for public office be sworn in: ‘I solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God.’ As a consequence, any subsequent lies are perjury, and punishable by law.

I am here to discuss how I believe Tea Party Democrats can win in upcoming Democratic primaries. The answer is to emulate and extend the success of the Tea Party movement by getting back to basics. The Democratic party is the party of Jefferson and Jackson. The founders believed that the public voice should be heard. They believed in limited government. And they never kowtowed to special interests or cowered before purveyors of the conventional wisdom. This means Tea Party Democrats should be running against the Obama administration’s policies which are counter to both traditional Democratic values and Tea Party values.

It is the Washington elite that have moved away from the ideals of Jefferson and Jackson with policies that are, at best, regressive, elitist, and destructive to our quality of life. For example, with unemployment rising, real wage growth falling, and GDP now growing at over 5%, who’s getting all that increase in real goods and services?

Not the millions who voted Democratic who are losing their jobs and their homes, and watching wages fall even as their cost of living goes up. All that real wealth being created is instead rising to the top, due to impossible trickle down policies that would have made even Reagan blush.

The large majority of Americans that elected this administration did not do so to enrich the bankers, insurance executives, drug companies, and union leaders at the expense of the rest of us, in a perversion of true core Democratic values. But it’s clearly happening as even a blind man can see.

Tea Party Democrats have a unique opportunity to be a part of history and overturn the ideas the current administration is employing that are, at best, regressive, elitist, and destructive to our quality of life.

I had respect for the original tea party that was founded by Alex Jones of http://www.infowars.com several years ago with the blessing of Ron Paul.

The tea party is now hyjacked by war monger neocons like Sarah Palin, Gov. Rick Perry, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and the rest of those globalist Wall Street pigs.

I think some of the individuals who joined in with the Tea Party activities truly felt that they were part of a “grass-roots” movement. I know a number of Tea Party types, though, and what I see is this: one & all they listen to or watch GlennSeanRushBillo almost 24/7 (not exaggerating). They are addicted to rightwing radio & tv on a very serious level, to the point where I witness true anxiety if they aren’t listening or watching after a certain amount of hours.

They honestly believe that they are “grass roots” and doing this “on their own,” which very sad and very scary. Because it’s been proven over & over how this movement has been organized on so many levels by corporations, whether by Murdoch’s World New Corp, or the various Big Ins companies, or other rightwing, christianist think tanks.

The culmination of Palin encouraging war with Iran at the ginned up, ersatz expensive “convention” in TN was absolutely no surprise. We here at FDL can point and sneer at Palin; we see her for the lying, dumb neo-con grifter that she is. However, her worhsippers (and that is seriously the only way they can be depicted) will follow her into the depths of hell.

So, this is all emminently predictable. The corporations ensure huge media coverage for a nothing event that they (the corps) have made into a something event.

Kabuki show! But watch and be cautious. These folks mean business. And yes, this Tea Party movement has also been under some type of control of the GOP. It may get a little weird at times, but Doug Coe and his “Family” boys will keep the minions in line in the long run. Mark my words.
