Witness the face of Teabag Nation, Steve King, invading the physical space of a blogger who asked him a question:
TP: It is tax day and you justified the murder of American federal employees at CPAC.
KING: Are you accusing me of that? Are you accusing me of that? Turn that camera off. I’m not going to have those allegations. You accuse me of murder. That is despicable behavior.
TP: I’m sorry — I did not say that, I did not say that.
KING: That is despicable behavior for any American on this earth to do such a thing.
TP: The camera is off –
KING: We are done.
You’ll be unsurprised to learn that King, who just hired a joint press secretary with fellow loon Michele Bachmann, did in fact justify the actions of Joseph Stack, who flew a plane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas, killing one. King, of course, threw a hissy fit combined with some intimidation at the mere suggestion. But that’s pretty much what he did.
There’s your “movement.”
By the way, the “other 95%” had some fun in Washington today:

Why did our guy back down? justifying murder is not that different than accusing a person of murder.
Its the difference between being a Concentration camp guard and the modern day person who defends or denies genocide.
No tv here I assume the Liberal Media has given this story 24/7 missing White Women coverage/s. A Political leader who justifies murder is a big headline.
The Vince Foster Hilary had him killed story certainly got plenty of mention.
Any word yet on just how big the bagger’s crowds were today?
Yep. It’s about as surprising as learning that jello is jiggly…
First Protest Tea bagger protest in the Wiki said 268,00 – 311,460 2 other nation wide protests according to wiki but no numbers.
Then 75,000 to tens of thousands show up for the next protest but we already have reason to doubt the high estimates because Fox News faked a photo.
But even if we accept the high number 75,000 is more than three times less than 268,000 the Tea Baggers decreasing ability to mobilize turnout for protests if this trend holds up today I bet won’t be mentioned by the MSM.

The only estimate I heard of the teabaggers today was 7,000 at the Washington Monument. I think I heard it on MSNBC. Take it for what it’s worth which is very little. Certainly none of the video I’ve seen suggests anywhere near 75,000 people.
The Huffpo has been on top of it…
Many people may agree with some or all of the teabaggers goals, but I think sane people don’t want to be associated with loonies.
Those won’t be showing up at rallies.

More facts that Fox News will never report;) The immigrant rights march just in L.A was twice as big or almost twice as big as the biggest Tea Bagger march Nation wide.
Despite not having 24/7 Fox news coverage and use of the Fox News website the Immigrants cause is more popular than the Tea baggers but you would never here the Political Talking Heads or the Main Stream Media say that:)
Thanks I’ll wait for later for national numbers but it does not look good for the Tea Baggers. You would think the Media would be reporting these numbers. Potemkin Protest anyone?
Can’t find nationwide numbers yet.
I wonder why. Could the Tea Baggers be discrediting the movement’s aims and weakening it? Bwahahaha!
Every time I get annoyed with Angry White Men, I just turn on the television; ever TV ad portrays them as stupid and being told what to do by either a woman or a Black. Then I feel better.
Why did you leave Koz?
The anti Bagger protest numbers would be great to get too. If I had known I would have been up for going to one in Portland.
When I hear Rep. King I get the same feeling as if I had just stepped in dog poo – oh yuck!
*heh* Ya would’ve only increased the #’s…! ;-)
I am anxiously awaiting Edward Teller’s results of a poll he was conducting at the Wasilla Tea Party…! *g*
SUPPOSEDLY local news in Sacto says there were 5,000 here.
I mean, supposedly there were 5K.
It was not really hotly covered, by anyone.
Although Armstong And Getty were there from talk radio, and as cryptically veiled homophobic, misogynist, racist and pro amarikahn as they are on the air (saw a vid linky).
Given that other issues in our days (boomers) from the 50′s/60′s/70′s thru Iraq AW Protests, and Million Man Marches (and Million Women) turned out HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS if not millions, the Tea Baggers get way too much coverage for a fringe and lunatic element which only bolsters their impact on other fringe loons.
How a 1% grouping can inspire such vapid hatred and provoke such violence, and do it at the behest of the MSM, is evidence of the corporate fascism that’s taken hold of our country, our government, our leaders, and our media.
Sigh. Nothing new, here.

Did I miss something? Notwithstanding his typical smarmy pol dancing between the raindrops and tangential IRS antipathy allusions. Where did he directly say that Stacks’ murder of a federal employee was justified?
Perhaps he’s said something I haven’t seen. Or perhaps this is based on the undocumented report by an anonymous staffer for Media Matters? She says that he says he could “empathize” with Stack. OMG Later, she says that he says he intends to hold a fundraiser to help people “implode” their local IRS office. I have no idea what that means, but who really thinks the fundraiser is to buy light aircraft and recruit kamikazes?
Something else I’m wondering: why is Stack always portrayed as a right-wing extremist? In his manifesto railed against “the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church,” “the monsters of organized religion,” “presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies,” and the “rich” and the “wealthy.”
Does that sound right-wing?
I’m way out of my league discussing taxes.
Anyone here well versed? It is my understanding that a national sales tax would be a very regressive tax.
Any comments?
The proposals I’ve seen exempt “necessities” from the tax to keep it from hitting the people just barely scrapping by, at least in theory.
Here’s the report on the Tea Party protest in Sacramento. AP reported “more than 2000″ were there. But if you’re familiar with the Capitol grounds they were on the West steps and the lawn there was sparsely filled directly in front of the steps. Maybe 400-500 IMO.

I hope the Republican legislators got an eyeful of that pitiful mob with their signage.
BTW One guy got detained with a gun.
I’m not sure what the juxtaposition of the Steve King video, and “Other 95% video” was meant to illustrate.
Steve King is a douche. Not really news here.
The other group claims to speak for me, saying they are the “other 95%.” That’s really lame. They don’t speak for me. I’m not going to praise Obama to the skies because some group of clinically insane people hate him. (Angry white men? Angry and white for sure, but from what I’ve seen there are as many women at there rallies as men. That the Teabaggers are predominantly male is a stereotype that is based on zero evidence.)
The idea implied by the counter-protesters, that if you are among the 95% who are not part of the Tea Party movement you thereby support Obama is ridiculous. As someone who wouldn’t vote for Obama for dog catcher, I resent being misrepresented by these Obama supporters.
We have a corporatist President, who bailed out Wall Street and gave the rest of us a miniscule tax cut, and we are supposed to walk around with signs thanking him. Really? Were any of those people marching with us March 27 at the anti-war rally? I doubt it. That would be criticizing Obama and they would never do that. They are committed to thanking Obama for their tax cuts. No matter that he escalated an insane war in Afghanistan, they saved a a few hundred dollars at tax time.
Maybe I was supposed to identify with the counter-protesters but I didn’t. I guess I’m a crank but I thought both videos illustrated how mindless our political discourse has become.
Very disappointed in this writing David. It appears to be bordering on disinformation.
I did not see where he justified the actions of Stack.
Seriously, I would like to know.
