The Communication Workers of America (CWA) are launching an ad campaign for Senate rules reform:
Having made U.S. Senate rules reform a top priority, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) today announced details of a paid media campaign ahead of the Senate vote on rules reform expected next week.
As part of their over $300,000 paid media campaign on behalf of Senate rules reform, CWA announced: Sunday Show & Cable TV Buy: Titled, “The U.S. Senate is Broken — But We Can Fix It,” a new CWA television advertisement will run during the January 20th Sunday morning broadcasts of ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’s “Face the Nation,” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Additionally, the ad will run on cable throughout this week of January 14th…
CWA’s expanded paid media efforts fit alongside the escalated grassroots activity organized by the Fix the Senate Now coalition. This coalition of over 50 national organizations, of which CWA is a leading member, supports the S. Res. 4 package of reforms introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Senator Tom Udall (D-NM).
Filibuster reform is expected to come up for debate some time next week. Though its likelihood of passing is by no means assured. And of course even if the reforms pass Boehner’s House is unlikely to put through any progressive bills that made it past a reformed Senate.

Expecting the Uniparty to reform itself to being responsive to the needs of the 99% is the equivalent of expecting the Zeta’s to give up drug-running as an income source.
Only votes for reform will come from the non millionaires in the Senate and the ones who can safely vote for it because it is assured to lose.
the dems in dc purposefully missed their chance to do filibuster reform in 2008 when the dem house could have sent reform legislation to the senate. instead we got over 400 dem bills passed in the house that never saw a vote in the senate. this is just the way the corrupt dem leadership wanted it
If Filibuster reform fails it is because the Dims and Repubs. both want it this way.
I read on one of the sites that Harry and Mitch are doing the two-step together again and Harry is looking to a watered down version if any reform at all. (Sorry I cannot remember the site)
Remember that handshake with Mitch the last time Harry? We sure do.
Or to expect Kim Kardashian to win the Nobel Prize for Physics.
Or to expect Adam SAndler to win an Oscar for Best Actor.
Or to expect Rush Limbaugh to admit that all these years, he has been a closet, gay democrat.
So, you’re saying three?
Harry Reid could have done this back in 2009, and numerous other times since then. We know why he didn’t — convenient excuses, just like Obama likes to use. Our government is a sham.
At least three, maybe five?
I fear the House is so dysfunctional that it makes the Senate look downright responsible and efficient, and the sense of urgency for this kind of reform might have been lost.
