US Attorney Carmen Ortiz
As the petition to remove her from office passes the 50,000 mark and a Congressional investigation is preparing to be launched, US Attorney Carmen Ortiz is back in the news for failures in her performance.
This time her office helped arrest the wrong man.
In the latest setback for Boston’s beleaguered U.S. attorney, red-faced feds admit they may have arrested the wrong man during a massive gang and drug takedown two weeks ago because he looked like someone they wanted, after they were forced to tell a judge there was “sufficient doubt” that he was the suspect…
A spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz declined to say how worried authorities are that they may have arrested an innocent man.
The latest embarrassment comes on the heels of a major loss by Ortiz in a civil forfeiture case where she attempted to take a motel from the owners on the odd justification that drugs had at one point been sold there. Ortiz was rebuked by the judge as she lost the case and any potential funds she would have gained for her office by illegally taking the property.
President Obama has the authority to remove Carmen Ortiz as United States Attorney. Given her continual failures it would seem appropriate to make that change as soon as possible.

Who appointed her in the first place? Is she a Bush hold-over, or did she come in with Holder?
Obama appointee.
Prediction: No action will come from the petition.
Prediction: If the pressure continues, Ortiz will resign. No offical job action will be taken.
Prediction: Ortiz will become an attorney at a major Obama donor if she resigns.
Prediction: She’ll be nominated for the federal bench when this blows over.

Scary thing is it took a suicide of a fairly well-known and respected person to get this out in the open.
How many are there out there just as reckless or worse? How many small fry have their lives ruined and get no ink? Who’s watching the prosecutors?

Ortiz is incompetent. Someone should check her old cases to see how many people have been unjustly put in prison for her arrogance.
THAT is what I want to know. Since Ortiz is under Holder’s wing, I want to know what his part was in NOT calling her off.
I hate being part of the Issa “I want Holder’s Head mob”, but these are strange times, so be it.

What worries me is that she might NOT be incompetent, she just got caught doing her job. Which means that what she did is the normal procedure for someone ObamaLLP finds inconvenient.

Are you sure cuz Ashcroft to Gonzales to Holder has shown a trend in the wrong direction. Obama has to go first and Impeachment sounds pretty attractive right now. Clinton was impeached for getting his rocks off in the oval office and from what we hear when O watches the drone videos there may be a similar out come.
Who was pretending useful to before now, Ms. Feinstein, and what was the constitutional legality of that stance?
Nothing will happen to her until she either threatens someone in the Owner Class or decides to actually act like an officer of the court.
