CIA Director John Brennan, a leaker in his own right, has launched an anti-leaking program inside the CIA called the “Honor the Oath” campaign. How do I know about this? It was leaked.

CIA Director John Brennan is launching a new campaign aimed at pressuring CIA officers to keep the intelligence agency’s secrets secret, after a series of leaks to the media.

In a memo to the CIA workforce this week, Brennan says the “Honor the Oath,” campaign is intended to “reinforce our corporate culture of secrecy” through education and training.

Corporate culture? Well that clears a few things up. For generations people have been saying that the CIA, mostly run by the elite and children of the elite, were gangsters for corporate capitalism. Now we know they view themselves more in a business context as well.

The Associated Press obtained the memo Wednesday, marked unclassified and for official use only.

D’oh!

Brennan says he launched his corporate culture inspired crackdown in the wake of a report done under former CIA Director David Petraeus who was trying to stop leaks against CIA officials. I guess we know what Petraeus’ motivations for that concern were.

The CIA ‘s big takeaway from the report was to further censor books by former employees.
